Snow Date:  Monday, March 27th, 2017
(Registration Closed)

The Governor’s PA STEM Competition is a unique competition for students in grades 9-12 that provides an opportunity to explore careers using  Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This year’s theme is “Making Our Lives Better through STEM.”
Teams of students from across the commonwealth are challenged to research, design and present a device/project that is capable of improving the quality of life better for residents of Pennsylvania. Teams are provided a $500 stipend to design and build a prototype of their device/project that can meet a series of practical tasks that can be translated into real world needs.
Students also engage with their local community to learn about STEM-related careers and the skills needed for success. To culminate the experience, students present their findings and explain the practical applications of their device to a panel of judges. The challenge will test teams’ communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills while providing a unique opportunity to share their creativity with other students from across the state.
