Curriculum Services at CIU 20

The Curriculum Services Department is responsible for establishing, coordinating and maintaining a wide range of regional services, activities, and collaborative programs for member school districts. It offers leadership, direction and support to local districts in the development of effective programs and practices for the improvement of instruction. The Curriculum staff provides a variety of advisory, consultation, professional development, liaison and research oriented services to districts, groups within districts and individual educators.

The Curriculum Services Department, in collaboration with the Administrative Technology and Educational Technology departments, provides technical assistance in school improvement and strategic planning; in curriculum mapping; and in designing curriculum that is integrated across grade levels and subject areas, and reflects content, skills, and assessment aligned with the Pennsylvania Academic Standards.

The Curriculum Services Department coordinates periodic meetings for the school district curriculum coordinators, elementary principals, secondary principals and the Reading Advisory Council. The primary purpose of these meetings is to provide information and training for district administrators on current trends, issues, state and federal regulations. These meetings provide a network of support and a means of professional development for administrators.
