eLearning Survey
Two surveys were developed to gather information about eLearning Courseware Providers (e.g. Blackboard and eSchool Builder) and elearning Commercial Online Course Providers (e.g. Apex and Advanced Academics).

eLearning Rubrics
Several rubrics were developed by area technology and curriculum leaders to critique the quality, content, and delivery of e-courses.

eLearning Policy
A policy framework has been developed by local technology leaders that examines the issues that need to be addressed when students take online courses outside of the traditional classroom. This policy framework can be used by districts as a starting point for creating their own policy.

eLearning Steering Committee
A committee has been formed comprised of area superintendents, curriculum leaders, and technology coordinators to help set the vision for future programs at Colonial Intermediate Unit 20.

Internet 2
Internet 2 is already available to K-12 school districts in five states and there has been discussion about bringing this high-speed network to Pennsylvania as part of a state-wide networking project. Currently, there are five organizations that have Internet 2 access through MAGPI, the northeast GigaPOP connection in PA:

  • Chester County IU
  • Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals
  • Lehigh University
  • Princeton University
  • University of Pennsylvania
