Specialized Transportation

CIU 20 provides specialized transportation to students in intermediate unit operated programs as well as district programs, at the districts’ request. The IEP team determines the student’s need for specialized transportation and is documented in his/her IEP under related service.

CIU 20 maintains a fleet of approximately 80 vehicles. These buses cover over 1,514,000 miles across three counties in a school year. Bus drivers transport students to and from home/school and on field trips and community based instruction activities during the school day.
