DESCRIPTION: Online 3 Credit Course
With continual technological explosions, the world that our students will enter after high school is changing on a daily basis. In order to compete in today's world, students need to know how to function on a global scale. The classrooms of today are preparing the students for yesterday. Teachers and administrators need to provide students with skills for jobs that do not even exist yet. Current classrooms reflect the 20th Century. Students need 21st Century Skills. Teachers need to know what 21st Century Skills are and how to incorporate and develop creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills in students. In this three-credit online course, participants will explore 21st Century Skills, describe the unique characteristics of a 21st Century learner and design lessons that develop this skill set.
