Executive Director Search
Position available on or about July 2019. Salary and benefits negotiable. Position oversees a large, educational service agency of 1090 full-time and 400 part-time employees serving 13 school districts, 3 career centers, various charter schools, non-public schools and community organizations in three counties in eastern Pennsylvania (Northampton, Monroe, and Pike Counties).
Requires knowledge, experience, and skill in planning, developing, and implementing programs/services in curriculum, technology, special education, mental health, early childhood, alternative education, juvenile justice and prison programs, transportation, human resources, negotiations, employee development, and finance. Responsible for Intermediate Unit budgets in the amount of $120 million and $115 million in health trust funds of which the IU is the trust manager. Requires solid experience working with board members, superintendents and others, both programmatically and politically, to provide excellent service to school districts and students.
Requirements: Pennsylvania Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility and an earned doctorate degree. Experience as Superintendent/IU Executive Director or Assistant/Assistant to a Superintendent/IU Executive Director. Experience or familiarity with the mission, operations, laws and regulations pertaining to Pennsylvania Intermediate Units.
