From Adversity to Achievement: A Student Success Story

Savannah Reiter joined Colonial Academy during the 2022 - 2023 school year as a 10th grader, facing significant personal challenges including childhood trauma and mental health struggles that had impacted her behavior in school. With the support of CIU 20 mental health staff and specialists, Savannah developed coping strategies and learned to express herself in healthier ways.

A bright and capable student, Savannah thrived academically with individualized instruction and steadily improved her behavior. Her progress led to a transition to Easton Area High School’s CIU 20 Therapeutic Emotional Support (TES) program for her junior year. There, she quickly advanced through the program and eventually reintegrated into general education classes, including college prep courses.

By her senior year, Savannah used the TES room only for brief check ins, completing all academic and elective coursework alongside her peers. On May 28, 2025, she was honored at Easton’s Academic Excellence Ceremony with the English Department's Academic Excellence Award, an impressive recognition among the school’s graduating class.

This fall, Savannah will attend Regent University in Virginia to study Psychology. Her journey is a powerful testament to perseverance, growth, and the impact of supportive relationships. The Easton High School TES community proudly congratulates Savannah on her achievements and wishes her continued success in the next chapter.
