Colonial IU 20 Awarded Highmark Foundation Grant

Colonial IU 20 has been awarded a grant from the Highmark Foundation to further strengthen trauma-informed practices across programs in RESOLVE Behavioral Health. This initiative will enhance the ability of staff to support students who have experienced trauma, ensuring that care is delivered consistently and effectively across the IU.

Since 2022, CIU 20 has been working toward the goal of having staff trauma-certified, beginning with training supervisory and classroom staff in the models and methods of trauma-informed care.

Thanks to this new grant, the IU will be able to build on that foundation by equipping staff with evidence-based curriculum and resources to deliver trauma-informed care with fidelity.

The $6,000 grant will provide materials for 73 of RESOLVE’s specialized classrooms, supporting the implementation of the following evidence-based programs: Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), Bounce Back, Support for Students Exposed to Trauma (SSET) and Non-clinical Bounce Back.

The Highmark Foundation has been a trusted community partner, sharing CIU 20’s vision of making a difference in the lives of children and families. We are grateful for their continued support.
