2025 Academic Competition (High School)

You are invited to send a team of 4 students and 2 alternates to the Regional Pennsylvania Academic Competition on March 28, 2025 (Snow Date:  Monday, April 14, 2025). The CIU 20 competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. (registration and refreshments will be from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.) Lunch will be provided courtesy of CIU 20. The competition is scheduled to end at approximately 2:30 p.m. All teams are asked to remain until the conclusion of the competition. 

If your school's team is the winner of the regional competition, they will compete at the Annual Pennsylvania Academic Competition.  The 2025 Pennsylvania Academic Competition located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is scheduled for May 2, 2025 at the Pennsylvania State Capital Building.  Each of the 29 Intermediate Units in Pennsylvania will send one high school academic team to participate in the competition.

To accommodate more teams, the House will run two concurrent series of matches.  Each competing team will be involved in two preliminary matches. The nine (9) highest scoring teams will qualify for the (3) semi-final matches. The winners of each semi-final match will advance to the final match. 

The format of the Intermediate Unit contest will parallel the state competition following their Regional Academic Competition Guidelines.
