Technology Services

The Technology Services Department provides technology support to member districts, career and technology centers, non-Public schools, charter and private schools in the Pike, Monroe and Northampton county region of Eastern Pennsylvania. The department is organized around two main functions; Educational Technology and Administrative Technology. The function of the Technology Department is to provide leadership with regard to emerging technologies and its impact on education and the functioning of schools.

Technology related services offered include the following:


Technology Committees 
These committees are made up of technology personnel from regional schools. The meetings focus on strategic technology-related topics and the application of technologies in the educational community. Various committees offered include Technology Directors, Network and System Administrators, and Technology Integration Specialists. 

Technology Services Review
CIU20 can provide member entities with a high level review of technology implementation within their district or school. This review would include appraisal of staffing levels, organization, application of financial resources, appropriateness of commitments, funding opportunities, identification of underutilized resources, and other management concerns.

eRate Consultation
CIU20 can provide eRate consultation with regard to reimbursement levels, appeal of denials, application for reimbursement, program reviews, eligible services, application strategies and other issues.

Network Monitoring and Evaluation
CIU20 can provide equipment on loan to districts to monitor and evaluate their networks in the event of attacks, service interruptions, equipment failures, etc.

Instructional Media Services Lending Library                                          

 CIU20 has a wide variety of technology resources in the Instructional Material Services Lending Library. These technology resources are available for our districts to borrow to support teaching and learning in their classrooms. These technology resources can be integrated to enhance professional development as well as classroom instruction.
