Accelerated Learning

Learning has been interrupted since the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CIU 20 is committed to supporting member school districts in their efforts to accelerate learning for students during the 2021-2022 school year by providing technical assistance, consultation, and professional development in four areas.

Purpose of Accelerated Learning through an Integrated System of Support:
Provide a process and system of support for LEAs to make key decisions for the start of school and beyond.

Key aspect of this process:
  • Flexible to allow LEAs to access individual components of the process based on need, while ensure consistency and flow in the process between components for those who wish to walk through all components of the process.
  • Overview of what we know works – honor the lessons learned.
  • Highlighting models and approaches.
  • Building a welcoming, safe and supportive community for students and teachers returning to in-person instruction.
  • Identifying where students are entering school academically.
  • Developing teachers to support all students, particularly those most vulnerable.
